Raising a Momin

A Tawheed-Centered Parenting Course for Muslim Mothers

PaidSelf-paced

A Momin mother raises a Momin child. Parenting is not a set of techniques applied to a child from the outside; it is the overflow of the parent's own aligned identity onto a child whose fitrah is already designed for truth. This course works from the inside out.

Syllabus

What you will cover

Module 1

The Amanah

Why Islamic parenting, what it asks of us, and what success means. You will name your real motives for parenting, understand the child as a trust you are accountable for, grasp your God-given duties, and redefine success in Islamic terms.

Module 2

The Lens Shift

Tawheed-centred parenting begins with the parent's own identity. The three foundational questions and your own answers to them, the Abd, Khalifah and Momin identity you must embody, and the five components of identity in yourself.

Module 3

The Mother's Inner State

Attention, regulation and muhasaba. You will learn to gather your attention and regulate your body, run the self-audit loop on your own reactions, and identify and replace a false belief in light of the Qur'an and Sunnah.

Module 4

Understanding the Child

Fitrah, the seed of peak potential, and the parent as gardener. You will come to see the child as an intelligent being with a built-in design rather than a blank slate, and understand that your role is to nurture that design by providing the conditions the Deen prescribes.

Module 5

The Child's Core Needs

The conditions that nurture the fitrah. You will identify your child's core needs and learn to meet each one the way the Deen prescribes. The gardener's soil, water and light.

Module 6

The Method, Discipline and Reward

Parenting style, the limits of punishment, and reward that builds conscience. You will locate your default parenting style, understand authoritative parenting as Tarbiyah, learn the Islamic limits on punishment and why harsh discipline fails, and use encouragement and reward in a way that builds an internal moral compass.
